Learn More About HOPWELL 13" Steel Tongue Drum →
HOPWELL builds steel tongue drums for every hand and every room, from a compact 12-inch drum to a resonant 14-inch model. Every HOPWELL drum is tuned to a 15-note D Major scale, hand-finished in premium titanium alloy, and built so a complete beginner can play a real melody within minutes — no sheet music, no lessons, just numbered tongues and a music book to follow along. Whether you're looking for a meditation and yoga companion, a calming addition to a music classroom, or a genuinely thoughtful gift, the HOPWELL lineup is designed to sound beautiful the very first time you strike it.
Built for real playability, not just good looks.
Every HOPWELL drum offers a full 15-tone D Major scale, giving you enough range to play complex melodies instead of a handful of notes.
Hand-finished by HOPWELL's artisans in a durable titanium alloy, with a pollution-free paint finish that resists fading for years of daily play.
Every tongue is numbered to match the included music book, so a total beginner can play a recognizable song within the first few minutes.
Each drum ships with two wooden mallets, four finger picks, a music book, note stickers, and a padded travel bag — everything you need to start playing.
Tuned for a warm, resonant tone that suits meditation, yoga, sound healing, and simply relaxing after a long day.
Three sizes of the same handcrafted 15-note drum — pick the voice that fits your room and your hands.
At 12 inches across and just 5.6 pounds, the smallest HOPWELL drum is the easiest to carry to a yoga class, a classroom or a friend's living room. It keeps the same 15-note D Major tuning as the rest of the lineup, so nothing about the playing experience is scaled down — only the size and the weight.
The 13-inch drum is HOPWELL's most popular size, striking a balance between a full, resonant tone and a manageable 5.7-pound weight. It's the size most beginners reach for first, and the one HOPWELL ships with the widest choice of colors.
The largest drum in the lineup trades portability for a deeper, longer-sustaining tone. At 7.6 pounds it's still light enough to hold on your lap, and it's the drum HOPWELL recommends for players who want the fullest sound in a home or studio setting.

A closer look at the craftsmanship behind every drum.
HOPWELL positions every drum as a professional-level instrument: premium titanium alloy, pollution-free paint that resists fading, hand-tuning by HOPWELL's artisans, and a full 15-note range built to last.
Strike the tongues with the included wooden mallets for a bold, resonant tone, play with bare fingers for a softer sound, or use the included finger picks for quick, precise notes — the HOPWELL drum adapts to however you want to play.
Every HOPWELL drum lists its real weight, dimensions, key and tuning clearly on the box. The 13-inch model shown here weighs 5.7 pounds, stands 12.6 inches across and 6 inches tall, and is tuned to D Major with 15 notes.
HOPWELL uses a premium titanium alloy and a precise cutting process for a clear, accurate tone, finished with a high-quality metallic paint that resists chipping and fading far longer than the ordinary steel and plain paint used on many budget tongue drums.
Originally I bought the 15-note tongue drum for my grandchild but ended up buying one for myself too. It came with a book of easy songs so you don't need to read music, and it produces a very relaxing tone. I'm so glad I purchased it.
I got it as a gift for someone who is dyslexic and doesn't feel musically able. They were playing recognizable tunes within minutes using the included instructions and music book. It was incredible to see them realize they really can make beautiful music.
Excellent quality and a decent size. Mallets make it loud, and with a bit of practice using your fingertips you can get the sound to ring true. I learned my first couple of songs in an hour — it's great for calming down.
Most of the notes sound solid, though the higher notes take a bit more practice to hit the sweet spot. The included guide book and stickers make it easy to find your notes. The carrying case feels a little thin, but for the price this is a great starter drum.
A beautiful drum at an excellent price. The pitch is dead on and the tones resonate beautifully. You have to find the sweet spot on the tongues, but once you do, it sounds fantastic. Highly recommend.
For the price, this is a great tongue drum. Once you learn where to strike each tongue it sounds beautiful and relaxing. I've had it two months now and it's become a therapeutic way to unplug after a stressful day.
